Supporting Via Bequests
If you wish to make a bequest, we recommend you seek advice from a solicitor to ensure that the wording of your Will reflects your exact wishes. It is our strong advice that your will should be professionally prepared. There are several ways of leaving a bequest, dependent on what is best for you and your family.
- A specific bequest which may be money, property, stocks, shares, or insurance
- A residual gift is where you can nominate to leave part or all of what is left of your estate, after provisions have been made for family and friends.
- A percentage be quest is where you can nominate to leave a specified percentage of your total estate.
To leave a bequest to St Barnabas College, the following wordings can be used in your will:
“I give, free of all duties and taxes, the amount of $ _________, or my units/shares in Trust/Ltd, or my real property situated at _____________ having the title reference ____________, or the residue of my estate (or % of the residue of my estate), or % of my estate to THE SYNOD OF THE DIOCESE OF ADELAIDE OF THE ANGLICAN CHURCH OF AUSTRLAI INCORPORATED (the Synod) (ABN 63 198 215 958) for the benefit of St Barnabas College. The receipt of the treasurer, secretary or public officer for the time being of the Synod is an absolute discharge to my executor.“
